Read: Genesis 1
Main Verse: Genesis 1:1,31
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ….And God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
When I was in Vermont, visiting some of my relatives, my husband and I were on our way back to my cousin’s house after shopping and I could not help but sit there staring at the incredible scenery around us. The lush mountains with shades of greens, browns, and purples, in all their splendor, reach toward the white clouds encompassed in a vast, blue sky. It was just so awesome to look at and to realize that this was God’s handiwork. God, the creator, fashioned, this wonderful home where we live. It made me think about the creation story in Genesis chapter 1. God in all His power made this universe, the world we call home. He made the birds that sing. He made us. How can we not believe in The One who spoke it into existence? As I looked at His creations, God gave me a poem…
Before me, I see a vast canvas
Painted across so blue.
Splashes here and there with white
Images, delicate, but so true.
Colors appearing from what seems nowhere,
Purples and browns and green,
Jetting upward so straight and strong.
It all looks so serene.
God’s hand is in this picture
For the canvas He did create.
The sky with clouds and mountains peak,
His awesome power so great.
We see Him in His creations,
What splendor does entail.
To know God loves each one of us
With a love that will never fail.
We are all part of this creation.
This painted canvas, we call earth.
Just yield to Jesus, live in His love.
Experience the second birth.
